Friday: Ruby on Rails in Higher Ed

  • split hand raise between those who use rails in ed and those who want to
  • ThinkAboutIt is the app that they wrote in rails
  • research driven software is a quickly moving target

Selling points of rails

  • reduced development time
  • reduced lines of code
  • reduced learning curve

This talk was more about the app he created and patents than how to use rails in higher ed, at least in my experience. There was a really good Q&A discussion after the main talk.
